Covid Updates & Policies - Moving In The Age Of Coronavirus

As an essential service, Rawlinson closely monitors federal, municipal and provincial health authorities and continues to be in regular contact with The Canadian Association of Moves & Allies Can Lines Head office regarding updates, which help us to address the concerns on conducting business in this unprecedented environment. We are committed to working together to provide continual service in the safest manner possible

Rawlinson’s Policy with respect to practicing appropriate hygiene

As of April 8, 2020, the priorities of Rawlinson Moving employees with respect to the COVID-19 VIRUS continues to be as follows.

  • Frequent washing hands with soap and hot water. This includes hand washing before leaving the office. Upon arrival at the residence let the customer know that you washed your hands prior to leaving the office and ask for permission to wash your hands again at the customer’s residence as well.
  • Appropriate hygiene needs to be practiced at all times including in the office, washroom, and warehouse: to and from, as well as in the customer’s home.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth.
  • Coughing or sneezing into you elbow or a tissue and dispose of tissues immediately in a lined wastepaper receptacles.
  • Customers will understand that a simple verbal greeting will suffice as opposed to a handshake when you arrive at the customer’s home.
  • Make every effort to maintain a 2-meter distance between you and others.

What can the customer do to help the workers take normal health precautions?

  • Inform you moving company ASAP if someone in your home is sick, in self-isolation, in quarantine, or has traveled to an area of significant risk.
  • Please do not shake hands with the mover. A simple “hi/hello and welcome” will do.
  • Consider having a dedicated washroom for them to wash their hands; make soap, sanitizer, wipes and paper towels available for them.
  • Have your own pen handy to sign any documents
  • Please consider ventilating you home before the moving crew arrives.
  • After the workers leave wipe down surfaces they may have touched, like taps, doorknobs and railings. Then, was your hands.
